Important information for Year 11 - GCSE results day 21st of August 2025

GCSE results and 6th Form enrolment will take place at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr from 9am to 1pm on Thursday the 21st of August.

GCSE results can be collected in person from 9am and pupils wishing to return to the 6th Form (Year 12) at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr will need to enrol with a member of the enrolment team.

GCSE results will also be sent out via email during the morning of Thursday the 21st.

Entry requirements for the 6th Form at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr

Pupils should achieve a minimum of 5 A* - C grades at GCSE including Maths and English or Cymraeg. Each application will be considered on merit, and any mitigating circumstances will be taken into consideration.

A careers advisor from Careers Wales will also be available should pupils wish to discuss other options.

Starting 6th Form in September 2025

The first day back for new Year 12 pupils is Wednesday the 3rd of September. During this day pupils will undertake an induction process whereby new 6th Form pupils will confirm their subject choices with Mr Rees (Head of 6th), receive a copy of their timetable, meet their new form tutor, sign their student agreement and complete induction activities. There will be no lessons for Year 12 on this day. Year 12 lessons will begin on Thursday the 4th of September.
