The language has official status in Wales, which has led to an increasing number of employers are looking for bilingual graduates, and to speaking Welsh being considered an additional and advantageous skill in the workplace, both in Wales and beyond.

With growing demand for a professional, bilingual workforce, obtaining an AS/A-Level qualification in Welsh can offer a foundation for a wide range of career areas such as media and broadcasting, the arts, health service, politics, law, education, childcare, civil service, public relations, translation, and local government. In any public office in Wales, a qualification demonstrating the ability to communicate, be it speaking or writing to a high standard in Welsh is of immense benefit.
