Offered Bilingually in collaboration with Coleg Sir Gar.

This level 2 course is available to pre 16 year old learners and on successful completion is equivalent to 2 GCSE’s grades A – C.  This is a theoretical and practical course.

This course is delivered over one half day per week for two full academic years

The learner is required to successfully complete 30 Credits for the extended certificate.

Course content:

• Estate Maintenance skills

• Land based Machinery Operations

• Farm Animal Production

• Introduction to animal and Plant Biology.

Entry Qualifications

No prior qualification needed to undertake the course, but the assessment will require written assignments to be completed together with continuous practical assessments.

The course is delivered one afternoon a week over a period of two years.

As well as practical and classroom based work in Gelli Aur you will have the opportunity to visit other farms and possibly shows / marts and conduct some work in Dinefwr Park.
