Rugby Report w/c 16th October 2017

The firsts have been in emphatic form with two big wins against Llandovery College and Amman Valley. The team demolished Llandovery College 2nds by 72 points to 0, with all 12 tries scored by the backs.  Dafydd Land scored an impressive 4 tries and Ryan Williams with a hatrick of tries. Last Wednesday they played at home against Amman Valley and ran out winners by 47 points to 7. This was quite an achievement given that the Amman Valley team reached the semi finals of the U16's Welsh cup last season. These 2 wins have put the school on top of the Carmarthenshire U18's league and the team will do all that it can to triumph.

Girls 1st team:
Last Tuesday the Girls senior team travelled to St Clears Rfc to compete in the annual Scarlets u18's, 12 a side tournament. The girls beat Bro Pedr by 12 points to 0 and Dyffryn Taf by 7 points to 5 to qualify for the cup semi finals. The team faced a strong Bro Myrddin team but put in a very resilient performance. They conceded an early try but kept on attacking bravely until the final play of the match. The girls dramatically managed to cross the try line in the last play of the match but dropped the ball in the act of scoring which resulted in an agonising 7-0 loss. Each member of the squad played admirably and can look forward to a promising season.

Year 10:
Year 10's played in a festival against Amman Valley and Maes y Gwendraeth with all 4 district coaches present to watch the matches. The team lost both matches.

Year 7:
The year 7 team played Maes y Gwendraeth and Strade on Thursday afternoon. The team performed brilliantly with a 10-0 win against Maes and drew 15 all against a very physical Strade team.
