British Mini Bikes
My name is Lewis Jones, I am 12 year old and in Year 8 at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr, I have raced with British Mini Bikes for the last two years.
My first full season was in 2016 and I won the British Championship in the Mini GP 140 class. This year I am currently running second in the championship, having missed two out of seven rounds this year so far.
This August I was invited to the selection process in the British Talent Cup, organised by DORNA/MOTO GP. I had to attend at Silverstone Race Circuit for trials. Out of 300 plus applicants I got down to the semi-final missing out to the select few who had a lot more experience.
I am hoping to move on next year, if funds allow, I aim to be running in the British Super Bike (BSB) paddock in The Santander Consumer Finance KTM British Junior Cup. The average BSB meeting boasts between 30,000 and 65,000 visitors and TV viewing figures are set to reach 10 million homes through SKY and Virgin Media platforms in the UK alone, and 30 million homes in 53 countries via Eurosport.
I am hoping that this challenge will give me experience of riding bigger tracks and a faster bike!!!
Ysgol Bro Dinefwr would like to firstly congratulate Lewis on his amazing achievement so far and also to wish him the very best of luck for his forthcoming competitions
