Ski Trip 2018
We are currently in the process of arranging the school ski trip for 2018 which will be travelling to Les Menuires in the French Alps.
Les Menuires is one of the best high altitude, big mileage resorts in the Alps and offers excellent skiing for both novice and experienced skiers. The trip will be departing 17th February and returning 24th February, 2018.
The cost of the trip will include:-
- a) Return flight.
- b) Airport taxes.
- c) 7 nights full board accommodation.
- d) 6 x 4 hours per day ski lessons with an official ski school.
- e) 6 days hire of all ski equipment. i.e. ski boots, skis, ski sticks and helmet.
- f) Comprehensive medical and travel insurance cover.
- g) Ski breakage insurance.
- h) Piste closure insurance.
- i) 6 days lift pass.
- j) All local taxes.
- k) An allowance for return coach travel from Bro Dinefwr to a UK airport has been included. However, the actual cost here will be dependent on the number of pupils going and small numbers may incur a slight supplement.
- l) Transfers between the overseas airport and our accommodation.
A typical itinerary is given below:-
Depart from school direct to the airport for our flight to France. Ski fit on arrival in resort.
Days 2 - 7
Six full days skiing in the resort with evening activities.
Depart hotel for return flight and journey back to school.
The total cost of this trip will be £1200 (based on 40 pupils going on the trip). In order to reserve a place on this trip, a £150 advance deposit is required by March 20th, and names will be taken on a ‘first come’ basis. In the event of there being insufficient numbers to allow the trip to ‘go ahead’ this deposit will of course be returned.
A second deposit of £150 will then be required by MONDAY 24th APRIL , 2017.
A third deposit of £150 will also be required by MONDAY 22nd MAY, 2017.
Our tour operator is a full member of ABTA, and is therefore fully financially bonded. This means that your money is completely protected at all times.
Following the payment of these booking deposits there will then be a saving scheme operating in the school whereby pupils involved in the course can bring money to the party leaders every month, and this is deposited in a building society account. Any interest earned will be used towards the cost of a ski test and badges, awarded at the end of the course.
In addition to the deposits outlined above we suggest the following staged payments:-
A fourth payment of £150 to be paid by 19th June 2017
A fifth payment of £150 to be paid by 10th July 2017
A sixth payment of £150 to be paid before 11th September 2017.
A seventh payment of £150 to be paid by 16th October 2017.
In any event, all money must be paid by NOVEMBER 13th 2017.
Please note that provided there are sufficient numbers to allow the trip to take place, the initial booking deposit and the second and third deposits are sent to our tour operator and are NON-RETURNABLE after the said dates unless a replacement pupil can be found.
Could I point out that as representatives of Ysgol Bro Dinefwr pupils coming on this trip are expected to show mature and responsible behaviour both during the ski week and in the months prior to departure. Ysgol Bro Dinefwr reserves the right to refuse a place on the trip to pupils whose behaviour in school has been a cause for concern.
If you would like your son/daughter to take part in this extremely popular and rewarding trip, please return the attached form, together with the first £150 deposit.
All cheques should be make payable to “Ysgol Bro Dinefwr”. Any further queries please contact Crissley Jones at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr.
